In October 1954, in Marion, Alabama, Larry Martin Sr. was born the eldest of eleven siblings. His mechanical talent surfaced early—at just 10 years old, he built his first crate bicycle. That spark of creativity grew into a passion for restoring and building cars.
Larry’s gift for problem-solving and reviving salvage vehicles quickly became his life’s work. With his four sons by his side, he began repairing cars under a simple tent. In 1992, that small operation evolved into L & L Son Body and Auto Repair, a proud family business built on hard work, skill, and integrity.
More than a businessman, Larry Sr. was a mentor, a motivator, and a second chance for those seeking work and purpose. Known fondly as “The Mayor of Pontiac,” he was deeply involved in his community, serving as a deacon at Renaissance Baptist Church and inspiring all who knew him.
Larry Martin Sr. will always be remembered as a loving father, husband, brother, uncle, and son—a man of honor and unwavering dedication.
Today, his vision lives on. The business he built with his family has evolved into 3M Auto Collision, continuing to deliver expert craftsmanship and exceptional service while honoring the legacy of the man who started it all.
