Larry Martin, Sr. was born the eldest of 11 siblings in Marion, Alabama in October 1954. His talent emerged at the age of 10 when he built the first crate bicycle. That talent grew to passion for building cars. Larry Sr.’s gift at solving problems and repairing salvage parts and vehicles ignited his entrepreneurial spirit. Larry’s four sons quickly learned about car repair and became his assistants. Larry and his sons began business repairing vehicles under a tent. Then in 1992, Larry Martin Sr.’s humble beginnings became great achievement. He proudly founded his company L & L Son Body and Auto Repair.
His legacy was not only a prominent businessman but a father figure for motivation and inspiration. L&L and Sons became a beacon for those who were in need or a second chance looking for work again. Larry Martin Sr. was active within his community as a deacon of the Renaissance Baptist Church where he began an in-depth and renewed spiritual relationship with God.
The ”Mayor of Pontiac” is what some would call him. He was loving father, husband, brother, uncle, and son. Larry Martin Sr. was known as an honorable businessman and community activist. He is well respected, and his memory will always remain standing. Currently, L&L Son and Body and Auto Repair remains within the family and has now rebranded under 3M Automotive fulfilling the creation and legacy of the Mr. Larry Martin, Sr.
